The story
Seven years of work that runs while everyone sleeps.
Runbook began in 2019 with two founders, a shared office and one client: a design studio that wanted its invoices out the day a job closed. The first workflow ran on a Tuesday night and the studio got paid nine days sooner.
There are more people now and the tools have changed twice, but the habit is the same: sit with the people who do the work, map the ten things that eat the week, wire them together, watch each one for a week and send a report every morning.

Two founders, one invoicing workflow
Runbook starts in a shared office with one client: a design studio that wanted its invoices out the day a job closed. The first workflow ran on a Tuesday night.
01 / 05 - 2020
The offices empty, the workflows keep running
Lead routing and onboarding join invoicing. The first morning report goes out at 06:00 and nobody has to be in a building to read it.
02 / 05 - 2022
The night log
Every client gets a log they can read: each task, its clock, its result. Support replies go live, and with them the first drafts written by a model and approved by a person.
03 / 05 - 2024
AI agents on the queue
Agents read, sort and draft; people approve. The helpdesk workflow answers six tickets in ten before the desk opens, and the exceptions land in a queue, never in a void.
04 / 05 - Today
Five workflows, sixty tools, one promise
1,284 tasks ran for our clients last night. The habit is the same as in 2019: map it, build it, watch it for a week, report it every morning.

Client words
What changed, in their words.
Founders, operations leads and office managers whose weeks got shorter.

“Our front desk used to start the day with 40 reminder calls. Now it starts with patients. Missed appointments are down by two thirds and nobody on my team touched a spreadsheet to get there.”
“They mapped the whole invoice-to-cash process on a whiteboard in the first meeting and had it running inside three weeks. We get paid nine days faster and I have not sent a reminder since.”
“Seven in ten support tickets close without us. The ones that reach us come with the order, the carrier status and the last message already there. That is the part I did not expect.”
“Thirty-one hours a week of admin, gone. The dispatchers still cannot quite believe the evening spreadsheet does not exist any more.”
“A new enquiry becomes an open matter with the conflict check done and the engagement letter out in four minutes. Our previous record was two days. Every step is logged, which our regulator liked as much as we did.”
